JavaScript
September 17th, 2010
I’ve been writing JavaScript for as long as it’s been a published ECMA standard – that’s over a decade now, and JavaScript is more popular than ever. This is probably due to the rise and rise of Ajax, and more recently the emergence of server side JavaScript engines such as the fabulous Node.js. Add to this the HTML5 JavaScript APIs just visible on the horizon and it’s clear that JavaScript is not going anywhere.
In general I use jQuery as my preferred library, but I have a deep knowledge of JavaScript programming. I recognize jQuery as a library, not a language of its own, as it seems to often be referenced.
